About Us

Making creative choices and developing original content is not an easy career path. However, our passion for storytelling has put us in position to deliver entertaining experiences to a wide range of audiences. We are surrounded by gifted creatives at GoughDrop, but the secret sauce is our relentless curiosity. Everyone we recruit is dedicated to pursuing the story. And everyone you meet has a great story to tell… Everyone.

Our Equation

This rich diversity that flourishes at GoughDrop is no accident. The weight and balance of every investment we make gets measured in the quality of life it can produce for all of us. With that as our Northstar, we live by simple math.

Variance + Time = Diversity
Diversity + Time = Progress
Progress + Time = Quality of Life

If you accept these fundamental truths, then it’s easier to leave behind prejudice. It’s easier to celebrate different lifestyles. It’s easier to change your mind because, after all, change is variance. Change creates diversity… and by embracing these life-affirming ingredients we create more quality of life for ourselves and our audiences.

The Gough Brothers

Joe and Patrick grew up in Union Lake, Michigan, a small town that no longer exists. Patrick was a University of Detroit theater grad and Joe studied communication arts at a college that no longer exists. They both did grad programs at useful places like the Hollywood Film Institute in LA and Motion Picture Pro in NY, neither of which exist today. Have you embraced the theme here? They started writing together at their only mutual alma mater, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. A storied institution has remained in existence for more than 125 years… However, it’s now co-ed. So technically, the all-boys catholic high school they attended, (you guessed it) no longer exists.

Joe and Patrick write and produce original content in a variety of media. They do their work together and separately with the credit always going to The Gough Brothers. Why is this the case? Because standing on one leg gives you weak balance, but standing on two legs gives you strong stability. They reside with their families in Detroit and Chicago. Cities with character and characters with stories.
